FF: Light of Hope

Aliseh was sitting at her window with a heavy heart and tears in her eyes. It seems the universe was reflecting her mood too. It was dark and gloomy outside.

She looked at the picture in her hand and let out heavy sobs. It was very hard losing her 10 day old baby to medical complications. Why was life so unfair?

Just then, she heard the chimes from the baby mobile, and the sun shone through the clouds. She looked outside the window and felt like her baby was up there and is talking to her.

  1. I love the idea that her baby is sending her a message. I think you might want to edit the last line: her baby was up there are is talking to her. A lovely sentiment though.

  4. There's something rather disturbing in this. Maybe it's just my interpretation, but the mood, the clouds, the tragedy, and then the baby speaking. Sounds almost like a threat.

  10. It's interesting to see how people respond to the prompt each week and mine was pretty much along the same theme as yours, except from a child who'd lost his mother. Those rays of light really did look like beams from heaven to me.
