FF: Ruined Picture

PC: Ted Strutz

I have been interested in photography for almost a decade now.

But, in all 10 years I could never get a nice location to click a starry night sky.

This time I traveled to Ladakh, in India. I have heard so many stories of a perfectly clear sky with million twinkling stars.

I sat with my wide angle camera lens and waited for the temporary clouds to clear on this dark night, and I was about to take a perfect shot, when this crazy man turned on his car headlights.

And now my picture is bright and ruined with no stars. Sigh!

  8. India is a good place to go. I myself prefer the Alvord Desert in Southeastern Oregon. Total darkness and no people for 30 miles. It's...incredible.

  13. I made a special trip up a mountain in Tenerife to see the stars in their 100% uncontaminated sky. I picked the only night in the whole year when it rained. I feel your pain.
