Her parents never approved her relationship with this
womanizing, 15 years older, four times divorced, still married man.
But, for the 20 year old’s rebellious eyes her parents were
always wrong & her lover man was right. Her world revolved around him.
One day, they planned to elope to a different city & get
married. He asked her to wait at the train station.
She waited and waited for 10 days.
She grew up from a girl to a woman in those 10 days

I think you would grow up... or at least grow accustomed to disillusionment (which I guess is the same as being grown up alas)
