FFAR: The Wait


Alomeda was the most beautiful girl in the Roman province. 

Many suitors lined up to ask her for marriage. One of them for Promeous, a well-built man, who has been in love with Alomeda from the time he saw her 10 years back.

Alomeda was to sail to the other side of the world, and her only condition was that she would marry the man who shall wait for her till she returned.

Many men stood for years, but slowly the crowd of men started to diminish. Alomeda, never came back but Promeous still stood there waiting for her return.

This place is flocked now by lovers, to pay respect to the legendary lover, Promeous.

    How sad that Promeous waited and waited but Alomeda never returned to his waiting arms. At least the poor man became a legend and a place for lovers to flock to. Wonderful story!

    Great take. I love how you wove Promeus, into the story, the statue waiting there for his true love to return eternally. I wonder what happened to Alomeda. Reminds a bit of 'Twelfth Night' from Shakespeare :)

      Twelfth Night, havent read it yet.
      I think either Alomeda might have run off with a lover or sank in the sea.
