FF: Surprises

PC: Dale Rogerson
My name is Dora. I am 32, married to a nice man. I live in Clarington town and I got a job in this carton department of Paul & Davis Company. PDC as the town calls it.
For the past few days, I have been tired, bored and cranky at work surrounded by these drab looking boxes. I felt like crying every morning.
So, this morning when I entered work, I was surprised to see this beautiful arrangement of flowers on my desk that had a card “You bring the color, the freshness to my life.I love you, the bloom of my life - *Husband*”
Now, I am having this goofy grin on my face all day.

That would certainly put a goofy grin on my face. Her husband's a keeper. Nicely done.

  10. You story nicely shows that no matter how faded and limp a person feels, a little encouragement can work miracles.

  18. It's so wonderful to run across such a sweet story when most of us went the deathly route. Excellent!

  19. The carton boxes in your story occupy centre-stage with the flowers. The goofy grin adds to her face value.

  22. I adore the whole idea of it! The contrast between the blandness of the boxes and the brilliance of the flowers. The thoughtfulness in the gesture of the surprise of flowers among the gloom and the heartfelt note. And then the transformation from cranky to a goofy grin. Beautiful, uplifting and heartwarming!
