It is said that the castle is about a 100 years old and it is said to be so spooky that even the most daring pirates have not ventured out there.

The legend says, this castle was built by the king Archmenroah III for his sixth and his most beautiful mistress Khalista.
Khalista, was a dancer for far seas, who had come to King Archmenroah’s palace to entertain the king’s court. The king fell in love with her but Khalista was in love with a Indian classical singer Sukumar.
When the king came to know of this affair, he tricked Khalista & Sukumar in this castle promising a marital bliss to them. But, the mean king, beheaded Sukumar in front of Khalista’s eyes.

Seeing which Khalista cursed that she would never allow any human to live in this castle, saying this she jumped from the castle into the deep seas.

  7. Good story. Sad ending for both. BTW there is a typo in the last sentence of the 2nd paragraph ?? Should it read "of" instead of "oh" Kalista's eyes?

  9. Very imaginative. So much like a fairy tale. Disney would probably change the ending to something happier but it works so well this way!

    1. Hi Art,

Does this happen in the movie?
      Does she curse the castle?

    2. well.. initially in the movie, the house/palace/castle is supposed to be haunted.. and cursed.. she is supposed to have cursed the king and all that.. Infact in kannada they even made a sequel to the movie.
