My theme for this year is called "A Piece of Me" #APOM
I would be sharing a tiny piece of my life in pictures
T for Tattoos
I have this thing for tattoos. My parents were against it. I wanted to get a tattoo with their permission.
I think I might have begged and bugged them for almost a year until they gave up and said yes.
Here are the picture of my two tattoos
The tattoo on the back is a Phoenix & my first tattoo - 15th August 2010 The second tattoo on my wrist signifys Lord Shiva - 27th January 2014 |

It must have been painful getting them put on. Why did you have them placed somewhere you couldn't enjoy looking at them? Just wondering...

T Is For Harriet Tubman
It was painful I agree.
DeleteI didn't want to see blood and needles in my first tattoo thats why the back :D
Thanks for visiting Sue :-)
Nice tattoos! During teenage I wanted to have a tattoo, but that required my parents permission. As I came of age my desire to have one just vanishes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing

Best Wishes!
I am wishing for 2 more tattoos, once I get all the permissions right :D
DeleteThanks for dropping by Karnika :-)
I've always considered tattoos works of art on other people. Yours are great. I just couldn't do it myself.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Tattoos are a work of art and they need to be precise since they are permanent.
DeleteThanks for the compliment Val :-)
This is something I've never wanted to do. I also wonder, like Sue, why you would do a tattoo where you can't see it? I suppose you have folk who enjoy tattoos and those who don't want them. I particularly like your first one. T is for Tempting Titles as you Build a Better Blog. #AtoZchallenge.
ReplyDeleteI am scared of needles, and i didnt want to see needles and blood in my first tattoo itself. Also, the Phoneix has a meaning to me that I want to carry proudly on my back :-)
DeleteThanks for visiting Shirley :-)
Not a fan of tattoos. Not into that kind of pain and as the body ages, depending where the art is placed, it can be rather disappointing. The Phoenix is interesting, but as the commenter above said, why put it where you can't see it? Find me here, LINK

Tattoos seem to be the rage these days and not just with rebellious youth. However the trend for many men to completely cover their arms with tattoos I'll never understand
ReplyDeleteIts i think a way of expressing oneself and committing to something permanent :-) is what I think though.
DeleteMy parents have diffferent views on it
Thanks for dropping by Bob :-)
Love your tattoos, and I think having a phoenix at your back is a very good thing indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you Deborah :-)
DeleteNice ones. You are truly a persistent & creative soul!
ReplyDeleteI like the temporary tattoos as they are not painful! Plus, there's scope for change & variety.
The Explorer of Miracles
That is such a nice comment Anita :-) Thanks a ton
DeleteBeautiful artwork! I'd get one in a heartbeat if they didn't hurt. I'm such a chicken! Thank you for sharing a bit of your life with us. Visiting from the A to Z Challenge. Have a great week! www.dianeweidenbenner.com
ReplyDeleteI would be lying if I said they don't hurt.
DeleteThey do, but guess if you want something pain is a part of it
Thanks for dropping by Diane :-)
I admire your courage DeeDee.:) :) I love the phoenix one.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,

Thank you Moon :-)
DeleteI don't like tatttos. It's the permanancy that puts me off. My daughters both have them. We told our eldest she couldn't have one when she was 16. She got pregnant at 17 and was asked by the midwife, in front of my wife if she had any. She was more embarrased by being caught with the tat than she was when she told us she was preggers!
ReplyDeleteAnother day in Amble Bay!
hahahaha....thanks for sharing that bit Keith :D
DeleteI've been going back and forth on getting a tatoo for about 20 years LOL I'm torn between getting one and not wanting everyone to be able to see it. I like the placement of the one on the inside of your wrist, and that would be the spot I would want one. But I hate the idea of it showing. I need to move to the arctic so I could wear sweaters all the time and hide it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the bloog visit today!

Nice! The phoenix is beautiful! Do they have special meaning to you? I have 4 (used to be 5, but had one covered) and only one was just "because".
ReplyDeleteLisa / Tales from the Love Shaque
I had an accident 11 years back. I almost died, my boyfriend, my friends everyone ditched me and vanished, I lost years of my college, After 3 years of recuperating I am what I am now cheerful, happy, strong so I guess Phoenix suited me. Rising from the ashes stronger.
DeleteThe Shiva tattoo is my belief, my faith :-)
Thanks for dropping by Lisa
They're beautiful! I'm glad your parents relented in the end.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to convince them for two more lol
DeleteThanks for dropping by Nick :-)
I love those tattoos. I always wanted a henna tattoo, but didn't think my dad, then my husband would approve so I do not have a tattoo.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to convince my parents and my husband for two more, hopefully they relent to it soon :D
DeleteThanks for dropping by Pat :-)
Believe it or not, I have no tattoos. When I grew up, they weren't considered acceptable for girls or women (my religion also forbids them). I am not sure I would ever get a permanent one. Temporary ones - yes, indeed. If only they all could be temporary, so in case you change your mind, you just get a different one.
ReplyDeleteI have heard many places don't permit tattoos.
DeleteThanks for sharing TUJA :-)
Nice tattoos
ReplyDeleteThank you Mike :-)
