3-Day Quote Challenge: Day 1: Thoughts become Things

I have always been inspired by the quotes from "The Secret".

Thoughts do become things. In ancient India, it is said that Yogi's could move things just by thinking about it. Yes, its no magic, its full concentration on their thoughts, the thoughts that get sent to the universe and it responds.

Now, I really wanted to get married, after a search of 7 years and meeting a million guys, I got rejected for having a very visible scar on my hand. I wanted a guy who would accept me with the scar and accept me as an independent woman. The day I stopped thinking that, such a guy doesn't exist, the day I stopped listening to others who said that expected too much and such men don't exist and I have to compromise.
That day, I decided I don't need to compromise, I will get what i want. It took time, but I did get what i want, in fact i can say I got much more than I asked for.

Many a times, we miss our friend who is in another time zone, and that friend will suddenly call you just to say Hi. You thoughts were so strong that the Universe just responded to it.

You might like some dress in a store but it would have been way too expensive there, maybe a few days later the same dress would be on sale at 80% off. Your longing for that dress, was heard by the universe and it just gave it to you.

Two Bollywood movies have penned this very beautifully

Film Om Shanti Om "Kisi cheez ko dilse chaho toh poori kayanaat usse tumse milane ki saajish karti hai"
Translate: If you really want something from the bottom of your heart, the whole universe conpires to get that thing to you

Film Munnabhai "Kisike sath dil ka connection hai na, toh idhar se chembur tak baat pahunch sakti hai"
Translate: If thoughts are connected then, your thought can reach that person even if they are really far away from you.

Moral: Think positive, Smile, Be thankful for whatever you have, and everything in life will be more than perfect

I nominate Rashmi Kartik, a blogger whom I recently came across. Brudberg, who just inspires me to write more. Usha Menon, who is a lovely blogger

I don't have anyone to Thank, because I nominated myself for this challenge.

This is what the 3-Day Quote Challenge is all about.

1. Post one of your favorite quotes (different quote on each day) on three consecutive days. The quote can be from your favorite book, author, or your own.
2. Nominate 3 bloggers to challenge them.
3. Thank the blogger, who nominated you.

Mag 276: Animal Love

Midsummer Night's Melancholy by Michael Sowa
I have grown up seeing Tom & Jerry cartoons, where Tom, the cat & Jerry, the mouse share a love hate relationship.

In my house, I have my cat Ron, who shares this love-hate relationship with our neighbor's dog Berry.

The fight like they might kill each other. They keep scaring and chasing each other all day.

But, today when Berry fell sick & the vet took him away, Ron started purring furiously. Then the purr died down to sad purrs.
My Ron, is a lazy cat, he wouldn't run even to catch a mouse, but seeing the vet van take away Berry, made him run behind that van as if his life depended on it.

Ron hasn't eaten anything from the time they took Berry away. He has been waiting on that window sill waiting for Berry.

Berry was brought back from the vet from the back door. One bark from Berry, and I saw Ron jumping up and down, chasing his tail, showing happiness.

Their love brought tears to my eyes.

Animals have emotions too. They feel love, pain, hurt. They have friends too. They do care and miss their friends. Just like us.

"If having a soul means being able to feel love, loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than humans" - James Harriot

APED: I Live

I am strong
Because I know my weakness

I am beautiful inside out
Because I have scars

I am thankful for having friends & family
Because I know how it feels to be alone

I am happy for the food in my plate
Because I know how it feels to be hungry

I am contented with my materials
Because I know how it feels to see them in the store and long for it

I am wise
Because i have made my set of mistakes

I love
Because I know how it feels to be hated

I smile and I live
Because I am blessed with only one life

Wow: I have a hand

I met with an semi fatal accident in 2006.

I was semi conscious on the road, I knew something went wrong. But at that moment I didn't know what has happened,or what's going on around me.
I remember some people's voices, I remember being lifted.

When I regained my senses, I saw a blank ceiling, green curtains moving slightly.
I hear the doctor taking to my father.
I vividly remember what he said "her right hand, it's gone"
I couldn't see my father's expression. But I could taste my own tears, my voice died in my throat, my senses went dry.

They had to do 3 consecutive emergency surgeries  to save whatever is left of my hand and for that they couldn't put any anesthesia for some reason.

I wanted to see what's going on, but the doctors held my face away and did not let me see anything. I was in a very dazed state to fathom anything that is going on there.

I remember asking the doctor "Do I have a hand?"
A few seconds of absolutely breathlessness, until the doctor said "yes , you do?"
I started weeping, tears of happiness.

I was wheeled out of the OT, I remember hugging my plastered right hand to my chest and chanting just one dialog to everyone who was ready to hear "I have a hand, Guys! I have a hand"

Its the true story of my right hand, I went through 19 surgeries from 2006 to 2009, I have a visible scar till now, but some moment last forever.

FF: Too much Oregano

My son is 2.5 years old,we stay in India and have never taken him anywhere outside our country.

One evening, my husband and I were watching a TV show that was showing the “Best street food in Paris" while our son was playing in the same room.

Suddenly, pointing to the TV,he as a matter of fact said,“Michael is putting too much oregano”

We were shocked,as of how he would know anything. Later, he pointed at a place behind the stove that looked like a storeroom in the TV and said “That’s where he stabbed me to death”

I fainted!

APED: Night

At *2.30am*

I was asleep,

I heard a knock

I walked towards the door to see was there at this hour.

The knock became stronger; I realized the knock was from the mirror

FSF: Waves

Pic Courtesy: Lillie McFerrin
People go through a million emotions, love, hate, anger, loathe, appreciation, mirth, sadness, so many more.

To be happy in life, one has to make a choice of which emotions they choose to embrace, the happy ones and smile or keep crying thinking about the sad ones.

Just like waves, they keep coming, big, small, lashing, calm.

Its you, who chooses which wave to surf on.

Its you who chooses how to surf on it.

APED: Opposites Attract

I always wanted to be married to a like minded guy, who would share my hobbies, ans we would have a lot of things to do together.

But, as fate decided, I got married to a guy who was completely an opposite of what I am

I talk a lot, he listens
I dance, he has two left feet
I like to pose for pictures, he likes to be behind the camera
I was a brat is school, he was the good boy in school
I don't understand a thing about computer coding, and he is a coding wizard

After getting married, I realized that its good that he doesn't share any of my hobbies, I get to learn a lot from him.
I see the world with a new perspective.
He encourages me to do what I like, and he also takes interest to know what I do.

I realized, life would have been boring if he too shared my interests, there wouldn't be anything new to explore.

The age old saying does hold true, "Opposites attract"

FF: Right Here

Fate brought him there again after 30 years. Everything looks the same.

The same room, same walkway. He could hear her voice ringing in his ears. Her laughter that echoed all over this magnificent room.

This palace that he built specially for her.

Only he knows the secret, the dark secret that this palace has.

He looks up the ceiling to see this beautifully carved chandelier, and immediately steps away from it.

For, 30 years back, right beneath this floor, he killed and buried her right under this chandelier in this very room

APED: Pirates

This image only reminds me of "Pirates"

Cheers to my mates, for we have the loot
Toast to the pirates, and their shiny rewards

This is what I have always  loved, Pirates life for me,
The treasure, is the reward for thou and thee

Cheers to my mates, My villany, larceny.

I lower my hat for the shipmates lost to the sea,
Maybe they were not meant to be

I am the devil, the black sheep, the scoundrel of this batch
How proud I am to wear this eye patch

Cheers to my mates, Its a Pirates life for me

Mag 274: Kids these days won't understand

Those were the days, no mobile phones. days of land lines.
Kids of today will not understand the anxiety of calling the person whom we are crushing on, on their telephone.
The kids these days wont understand the fear of their parents picking up the phone.
Kids these days wont understand the sign of One-ring "Its Me", Two rings "Come at the window"
Kids these days won't understand the below conversation

Me dials Carl's number
Carl's mom picks up the phone
Me "Ahh, Is it Mathew's house"

I remember, I used to know all my friend's numbers, my parents work numbers, my grandparents house numbers by heart
Kids these days won't understand the feel of waiting beside this phone, waiting for it to ring and have a long-distance call with some delay time.

Those were the days, the Good Ol' days

FF: Home

I walk inside. It feels like those old days. I can still smell the freshly bakes cookies that my mom used o make in this kitchen.
Walking in here after 20 years, its like walking down the memory lane.
This is where, I had my first kiss
This is where we celebrated my parents many anniversaries.
This is where we cut birthday cakes.
This is where I cried my heart out when I got married and left.

This place is Home. This place is where my heart was, is and will always be

Mag 273: Happiness is...

This post is written for Magpie Tales for Mag 273

Happiness is all in the mind, If you feel you are happy inside, you can be happy in any circumstances that life throws to you.
A person doesn't always need money, comfort, expensive clothes to be happy.
Sometimes people who have everything, aren't happy and suffer from depression. Sometimes a person who has nothing is happy.

"Happiness doesnt depend on what you have or who you are, it solely relies on what you think" - Gautham Buddha

Sexy or Not, Weird for sure

Disclaimer: I don't know If I am the only one or many women think like this

Every girl, has seen a sexy lingerie in shops, lacy, leather garters, negligees etc etc  and trust me we girls have fantasized of ourselves wearing those someday.
But, when you actually go to buy it, Trust me, Its a total awkward moment. That's why we resort to buy it online, but then again are worried of what might be written on the package as to not embarrass ourselves in front of that courier guy, so we call that site and ensure, that nothing "unforeseen" is written on the package

Things that might go in a girl's mind while buying a sexy lingerie,

1. Is that it? where is the rest of the garment?

2. How the f*** do I wear this thing

3. Doesn't this have a bra? OMG Like seriously?

4. This belt or whatever will make me look like a leather Egyptian mummy

5. Thong? Does this thing cover anything at all?

6. This handkerchief thing is 5k

7. I am sure, they have made it with those remains of other clothes

8. OK, now how exactly does one wear this, I don't even know which part is supposed to be where

9. Why does one wear this all sheer, rather not wear anything

10. It was a bloody bad idea, to come into the shop to buy these non-existent thingies, OMG, look at those aunties giving me ugly looks and why are those teens giggling. I am going to die of embarrassment.

Ladies, whatever it is, just enjoy and feel the moment. Some day they might make a super idiotic blog

10. Why do I spend 5000 bucks for this thing that isnt going to last on me for more than 5 minutes

Mag 272 - Hope

Sometimes in life, all you want to do is run away from all your problems, run away from all your people and jump inside an endless sea and never some back.
But then, you have a small hope, that someone out there loves you.
There is hope that how much ever you sink, you are alive, you are here. The Lord wants you alive for some reason.
This little hope doesn't allow you to sink, neither in an endless sea or the sea of your problems

Hold
On
Pain
Ends

Believe it, Believe Him!
