ABCW: X-Men

http://masaimedia.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/x-men-first-class-synopsis.jpg
PC: Massmedia
X-men happens to be one of my favorite series. Whenever I see this movie I wish I had genetic mutated powers too.
If ever I would get powers I want the combined powers.

Wolverine's healing power + Jean Grey's telepathic powers + Raven's shape shifting powers (without being blue) = Me

How's that

Mag: Last kiss

Dear Long Gone Boy,

Our last kiss was more nervous and memorable than our first.
It keeps replaying in my mind again and again.

Hope you remember that small pixie like girl whom you left alone in the middle of the road

Mag: Granny's Park

Every family holiday, I remember going to my grandmother's house.
It had a beautiful park in her backyard and Granny insisted every year that we take a picture in that park.
And every year like every damn year I get the worst pose, worst position in the picture.
Where I am in this picture? I am the one hanging in the front with a most stupid expression.

Years later, when I see this picture, I am smiling at myself. Printed pictures are loaded with memories, much better than cellphone pictures.

Happy Holidays! Miss you Granny

Mag: From under the bridge

photo: Tess Kincaid
Standing from under this snow clad bridge
Every year passes by, with lit up trees & carolers singing
I see beautiful people strolling
I smell yum food from here

I see toys lined up in stores,
How I wish just one of those not more

In rags I sit, huddles under
Away from the cold, for some warmth

Oh Lord! I not ask for more
I just ask for warmth, I just ask for love

This Christmas give a blanket, or a cake or food to the homeless, you never know how much would they have longed for it

FF: I too need care

PHOTO PROMPT © Roger Bultot
For centuries it sat there. It has seen wars, births and cities growing around it

It has seen kids,  become beautiful men & women
It has seen murders & lovers

It has seen sun, storm chilly winters & rain

Abandoned & alone, with million stories in it
In darkness, lies enlightenment

For the one, who is willing to show it some care it deserves

#MondayMusings & #GivingTuesday Balloon

#MondayMusings
I shifted to Bangalore recently and as far as possible I make it a point to walk around my "traffic laden congested" area to know it more actually to check more eateries around.
So, every day I see this kid wearing raggy old T shirt & dirty dusty pants, sitting in the corner on the road and longing looking at the balloon vendor standing in the opposite of the street.

So, yesterday, I went up to the kid & asked him in Hindi if he wants the balloon, well I do not know Kannada,he didn't know English but we communicated well.

I took him to the balloon guy, and the kid chose a shiny blue aeroplane balloon.
trust me, the glow on his face & that wide smile on him was so satisfying to see, no retail therapy or hog-therapy would have given me peace & satisfaction at the same time.
I was grinning all the way home after this.

TT & ABCW: Universe

The word "Universe" only makes me think of One thing, the book, "The Secret"

"If you really think something in your mind, the whole universe conspires to get that thing done for you"

Pic Courtesy: Google Images
Also, this prompt really stuck something inside me, it made me realize, that I, You, We, Us, everyone here are the children of the universe, just the trees and the animals, birds, fishes.

Universe doesn't see pretty or ugly.
It doesn't see old or young.
It doesn't see human or animal.

For the Universe, everyone is a thought, the gazillion thoughts that go to it everyday.
It promises its kids to fulfill it one by one, maybe not immediately but soon.
It promises, its children that it will give them not what they desire, but what they deserve, that might me much more than when we have actually desired for.

That was what Universe meant to me

Mag: Not a fairytale

Joachim Buecklaer, 1560
I have grown up listening to fairy tales from my grandmother. Now, at this age, I don't believe in them.
Once upon a time, long long ago, a beautiful princess, evil things around her, prince charming, glass slippers happily ever after.

Here I'm owner of this estate that my father left me, but what I am is a princess with oily face, dark circles, rough hands.
Evil people, oh yeah suits my scenario, look outside the window, my step-sisters playing and I am here making an elaborate lunch for some dork suitor for my sister
Prince charming, Yeah! The only man I meet everyday is our 70 year old butler, so much for the charm.
Glass slippers, I am happy to have even worn out, old clogs on my feet, Glass Slipper, Phooey!
With a smirk on my face I say happily ever after and butcher the stupid animal in this deary old kitchen.

Not always is a damsel in distress have a fairy tale.

ABCW: Traffic

Picture this:
PC: Google Images/Traffic Congestion in Mumbai
Traffic Jam *beep bonk paaaa peeee poooo beep beep beeeeepppppp*

Does it sound normal to you? then, my friend you are in India

Very inconsiderate people, you know you are in a traffic, or a red signal. Honking like a mad person is not magically going to make way for you.
Neither can go drive on the heads of other cars and go ahead, then why can't you just stand there patiently instead of pressing that horn so hard than it goes right in and comes our of your bonnet, Like seriously, I don't understand..What is the hurry?

Its not that you have a dying patient or a pregnant woman in labor in you car, then why that crazy honking.

Do you realize how annoying you sound?

Using that horn during an emergency is valid
Using that horn to notify that you are in full speed in a junction is valid.
Using the horn to warn some idiot crossing is valid.
Using the horn to make the person driving in front of you realize that the road in front of him is empty and he is blocking you is valid.

But, honking for no reason? Dudes, and some Ladies, get a life, get some driving etiquette's, else stop driving, you don't deserve a vehicle

With wings upright they flew down the very dangerous mission.
They land neatly on the flat surface of the table and take big piece each of the cake. They look at each other and give a victory Coooo.

Now, they spot a danger, the lady of the house with a broom.

FF: Isn't life important?

PHOTO PROMPT © C.E. Ayr
PC: C.E.Ayr
Early morning the traffic is always horrible. Everyone is speeding by, everyone want to overtake and reach work in time.

Naisha, looked at her watch. She had a meeting at 10am, she had to have her breakfast & that fight with Harun was still on her mind.

The signal was green for vehicles, but still Naisha rushed to reach work in time, little did she know, this was her end of time when the bus rammed into her and that was the last she breathe.

Was the meeting more important than life?
Is work everything?

No, be safe, you are important for yourself & for the people who love you

ABCW: Short Stories

PC: Teleread.com
I wanted to write a ten short horror stories. Imagine each scenario while reading them

1. My picture
I woke up with a start.
It was 2am. I saw my phone.
I saw a picture of mine clicked at 1.58am sleeping
And I am alone at home

2. Knock
I was at home & I heard a knock at 1am while I was reading.
I walked towards the bedroom door.
I heard the knock again, now louder.
I realized the knock wasn't from the door, but it was from the mirror in my room

3. Lost
We were walking through the jungle trek & got lost.
We saw a village woman walking through the jungle & asked her the way out.
She didn't speak but pointed towards the deep dark jungle.
We started to walk again. My friend turned to back to see this woman floating 3 feet up in the air.

4. Light
I am home after a tired day of 20 hour work. Its 2am already.
I open the door of my house and reach to the light switch.
But someone's had reaches there before me.
And I stay alone.

5. Dog
My pet Bruno keeps staring and at times barks at me.
I wonder why, until I realized that Bruno doesn't stare at me.
He stares at something behind me

6. Daughter
My daughter came to my bed last night & said she is cold
Her dress is all soiled. i told her she doesn't belong here
She is supposed to be sleeping in he coffin now.

7. Laugh
Its lovely to hear a baby's laughter at home.
But, not when it is 3am & you are alone at home

8. Wife
Its nice to see your wife cradling your baby.
Unless they have been declared dead an hour back

9. Guitar
I love the sound of the guitar, but not anymore.
Its playing from room number 13.
The girl staying there used to play the guitar before she hung herself the previous night

10. Window
Its cute to see that little boy staring inside through the window
The only problem is, I stay in the 10th floor

WODW: He makes me Smile

I live in India. here the concept arranged marriages are very common.

When my parents started looking for a groom for me, I was 21
Then all I looked was for hot looks - nothing else, his character, his family, his education nothing mattered

Then I grew up, at 24
All I wanted was, him to be rich - average looking, but rich - again education, family, nature nothing mattered

Then a grew up a bit more - I was 29
I realized, I want a man who can talk, who can communicate and who has a sense of humor.
I man who can keep me smiling all my life.
A man with good sense of humor , is popular, well loved and well read.
So, education part is taken care of, good education guarantee a good future.

I realized looks fade away, money can be earned, but a person who can talk, make you smile & care about that smile on your face is the person to be with, totally makes life worth living.

MFTS: Promise

I watched the vulture looking at me hungrily as I lay on the ground bleeding and injured

It was a two hour struggle to save myself from them. My body is almost giving up, but my brain says, just one more turn and you shall live.
That menacing vulture is hovering around waiting for me to bleed to death.

No..No Mr. Ugly Bird..I am not going to be your dinner.

They pecked me, pinched me, the followed me around trying to hurt me, and eat me alive.
I ran as fast as my small legs could take me.

Someday black crows; I am going to get back to you and hurt you bad.

It’s a promise by me, The Chicken

Mag: God Answers

Dear God,

What did I do wrong?
Why am I to be punished for everything?
I pray to you everyday, I am a loyal devotee
But, what happens to me is never good.
Everything I have loved has left me.

I have had faith in you for everything.
You gave me a lifetime scar, I took it with a smile
You separated me from my family, I took it as your decision
You barred my education, I had faith on you Oh Father
You have made the only man I ever loved, to love someone else. I took that too I accepted.

I'm lonely
I tried to die & come to you, but you didn't allow that too.
What do you want?
How many more problems do I have o deal with alone?

Where have I sinned you?

I weep before you, Oh Father!
Give me rights to be happy or take your child to you, away from this world in your arms.

*weeps & sleeps*

God says "Child, I made you very soft & vulnerable Then I realized that you wont be able to survive in this world. I gave you tests to make you strong and independent. You shall get all what you want. You don't have to as to be in my arms. My arms are always around you, little one"

WODW: Dear Diary

Dear Diary,

He hugged me today. He cried for long on my shoulder. He mumbled some words of love, hoping to get back. The break up was hard on him.
It looked like he was really in love.
The man I am crazy about, the man who was my best friend, the man who promised forever.
That man cried, on my shoulder for the girl he loved.

Dear Diary,

I went through three worst feelings today.

One realizing that I am the person who is a crying shoulder for everyone without having a crying shoulder for myself
Two is going through that bad feeling when the person you love, cries for the person they love on your lap
Three being, I might look strong outside, so I am taken for granted to be strong forever.
Won't anyone realize that behind this strong woman, there is a little girl craving for a hug, some care, a kiss, a lot of love?

Dear Diary,

I am in the park & I see a couple holding hands. I look away, not because I hate lovers. I looked away because I had tears in my eyes. I thought about him & I know he is not mine.

Dear Diary,
I am not sure, If I have to wait for him or forget him.
both seem to be painful.

Dear Diary,
Thank you for being with me, when I needed someone to pur my lonely heart out to.
XOXO
Stupid Girl

ABCW: Optimism

PC: Hubspot.net
Being Optimistic, doesn't mean being happy always
Its seeing the positive aspect in a worst situation & smiling

Being Optimistic, means having faith
On the situation, on yourself & on God

Being Optimistic, accepting life as it is
Than complaining

Being Optimistic, doesn't mean not feeling low ever
Its about bouncing back from that feeling with a smile

Being Optimistic, doesn't mean not crying
It means crying over something once, and promising to never cry over it again

Being Optimistic,  loving yourself the most

Be happy, laugh, cry, fall in love, fall in love, fail, have a heart break, taste success, be passionate, have a hobby, screw up in life.
 Its Ok.
We have one life, live it to the fullest.

MFTS: Lost

Not knowing what to expect, he made his way into the dark of the forest
He was tired & scared and slightly in shock too.
He fell from top of the waterfall, that might have been at least 40 feet up.
It was getting dark. All he wanted was the warmth of his mother
The wind howled, the leaves rustled, the forest that looked all pretty during the day, was starting to look creepy.
He wanted to cry, but his mother has told him to be brave.

CC: They are watching

Many may not believe that ghosts exist, but they do.

Chitra, her husband Ram and their two kids Neha and Nivesh came back to India after 5 long years and settled in the house that they had bought about 8 years back, but never had stayed there.

It was a nice cozy 1 BHK in the central suburbs of Mumbai, overlooking a beautiful garden and had nice friendly neighbors. It was a perfect cocoon for a happy family.
The few nights after the moved in, Ram started talking, screaming, slowly howling in his sleep, mumbling "leave my hand..leave my hand"  and would eventually go quiet.

Next morning, when Chitra asked him, he would say "A teenage boy wearing Khaki pants and check shirt was sitting by his bed and holding his hand".
Chitra and the kids just laughed it off saying it must be the impact of the spook series that Ram is so addicted to.

Their house had a king-size mirror on the passage connecting the living area and the kitchen.
One early morning, say around 5.30am, Neha, Ram's daughter was getting ready for college and was admiring her reflection on the mirror, when she saw a little girl walking past behind her. Neha turned her head to the left and saw a little girl wearing a pink frock with bow belt tied on the back walk into the living room. Neha, went to the living room and saw nothing. She felt, she must be hallucinating due to lack of sleep.
Ram, still every night complained about the teenage boy.

The house bedroom door had a one-way glass, meaning one can see from the inside but will have to peep through the glass to see inside, and the reflection of the door falls on the mirror of the cupboards in the bedroom
One night, Ram and Chitra had gone for a party, and Neha and Nivesh were in their bedroom watching a movie, when suddenly Nivesh said to Neha "Look, that girl is looking inside" Neha looks at the door but couldnt see anyone. Nivesh tells Neha to look in the mirror, and Neha sees someone pass by. Slowly, she opens the door and is shocked to see a silhouette of a woman floating around the kitchen. Before, Neha could say anything the silhouette had vanished and the house looked normal

When the kids narrated the whole incident to their parents, Chitra called up her mother who knew a thing or two about supernatural beings.
Chitra's mom suggested that the put rice mixed with kumkum in all corners of the house in the night and sleep.
Chitra did what her mom said, she put the kumkum rice all over the borders of the house.
Next morning, all the rice got accumulated in the center of the passage.
Shocked and scared, they explained this to Chitra's mother, who said the epicenter of ghost activtity was the passage and advised them to leave the house.

Chitra was a bit apprehensive of leaving this house, so she postponed it. Eventually, all such activity stopped.
The family forgot all about ghosts there...Until.........

One night, when the whole family was preparing to sleep, they all saw a 7 foot tall shadow, with red eyes and hair till the ankle walking towards them. The lights of the room started to flicker. It looked really angry.
The family huddled in one corner of the room, the shadow gave a nerve chilling scream and the floor was covered with blood.  Chitra almost fainted, Neha's voice couldnt find its way out, Ram was at loss of words, and Nivesh couldnt feel his own tears.
Within moments, the shadow moved towards the passage and the blood on the floor started to move on it own to the passage. The shadow gave one last menacing look and vanished.

The family left that house the same night with whatever they could gather, they never came to that house ever again.
The memories still haunt ever member of the family even today..

They are there and they are watching you

ABCW: Nature

Nature is the best painter

Its paints every morning with different shades
Its paints every evening with darker hues

Different blues of the sky
Different greens of the leaves

Different colors for each season
Be it summer, winter, autumn or rains

No Instagram, No huge lenses
No expensive paints or brushes
Nature has is own light set up
Nature has its own filters

A splash of colors makes the rainbow
Beautiful sparkles make the stars
A stroke of glaze, make the mighty sun
A shade of it makes the sunflower

Mix and match, nature plays with its color palate
So many insects, animals & flowers it caters

I wish someone could award the highest honor to Mother Nature
For giving us this beautiful world, that sometimes we forget to nurture
