FF: Memories

I returned home after 15 years. My land, My Mexico, its Mehico for me. I drive by Red Mtn Deli and so many memories have come flooding by.

PC: Jean L. Hays
I came here for my first date with Gina. We practiced with our first band in the garage here. Pops used to give us milkshakes for free. I had my first heartbreak here. I was here with my friends when the announcement on radio came for me to join back my brothers in the army. This is the last place I saw my friends saying a tearful goodbye.

All of this before our Red Mtn Market and Deli was attacked by terrorists.

ABCW: Home

My biggest dream has been to buy a house.
Someday, while working on it, that house became a home

The house of brick and cement
Became a home with love and family
PC
'
The best hotels can't match the coziness of my messy home
The nicest sleep is always on my own bed rather than the plushiest bed anywhere

Wherever I travel, there are so many things that remind me of home
Smell of coffee, that freshly baked bread

My favorite corner beside my bed
That peeling wallpaper

My home is not perfect
But, its special

It is Mine.

ABCW: My Little Girl

I am writing my blog again after a year. I am again writing on ABC Wednesday I guess after a very long time. My first letter in this season happens to be "G"
This year this letter happens to be very special to be because I have a little baby Girl

A little angel descended from the heaven into my arms
Precious and priceless, she is my handful of happiness

When she smiles at me, my heart skips a beat
When she cries, my eyes too weep

Dressing her up is a sheer joy
Her little antics makes me cuddle her all day

My little sunshine, brightens my day
She makes me complete

My precious pearl
Is my tiny little Girl

SWG: Those Words

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from the last stanza of the book-length poem "The Prodigal" by Derek Walcott: dolphins, wait, embers, wedge, elation, benediction, fury, line, prophecy, soar, certainly, shines

Meera's life was a tragedy. She started to believe in every magic, prediction, zodiacs every astrologers. But most of them were fakes and took undue advantage of Meera's desperation.

PC
One day, while Meera was waiting in line for the bus, an old man, with a very serene face and white beard wearing an amber robe, walked up to Meera, looked straight into her eyes and said
"Fury will create a wedge in your life.
Your long wait  will be over.
Your popularity shall  soar,  stars are going to shine, You shall be elated soon
In the shores of a beach, where certain kind of dolphins live, your love waits near the warmth of the embers"

Having said these words of benediction the man walked away, Meera stood there dumbfounded. The man vanished at a distance.
It seemed like a prophecy. It seemed like God!

WPS: Ghost Town

Zhao came here as a tourist, but this place, it haunted him. He has dreamt about this place so many times and always woke up sweating. He felt as if he has been here before, he knew the place where an old man used to sell tea. The window above had rose trellis, and Mrs. Ping used to bake bao there. Deja Vu!

Songxicun, China | Gao Shian, Google Maps
How did he know that? According to people, this city was burnt down to ashes  80 years ago. Later, they found out that one man was murdered here while the whole city was away in the New Year Carnival.

While, walking down the street a  very old woman, saw him and gave out a wail. She held Zhao's hand and said "Oh my God! Yansing, I am so happy, my prayers are answered, you are back"
Zhao stood there confused, the old lady brought out a picture from her purse, it was a black and white photo of a man, who looked exactly like Zhao, it was the picture of the man who was murdered in this town. Zhao was shocked, surprised, lot of mixed emotions.

The old lady looked straight into Zhao's eyes and said "Do you believe in rebirths?" She gave him a knowing smile and a piece of paper and suddenly vanished into thin air.

Zhao stood in the middle of this ghost town and fainted when he opened the little paper in his hand.

Gone with the Fire!

This post is written for the Friday Ficitoneers after almost a year. I have butterflies in my tummy while writing.

PHOTO PROMPT © Anshu Bhojnagarwala

While staring at the fire bonfire, Michelle could only think of the last night she spent in Rohelio’s arms.

That cold winter night with hot chocolate, when they sat by the fire in her backyard making promises of never letting go. That night of an amazing love-making session and drifting off to sleep in those strong tanned arms. She started to dream of a life with him without any inhibitions, or responsibilities, money didn’t seem very important to him, is what he said.

The morning was when the reality hit hard, when she found him gone with her money, her car and her valuables, leaving her with nothing but a burnt log of ashes from the fire they were sitting beside the previous night.

I am Back!

Hi Everyone,

I have been away from the blog for a ridiculously long time now.
Well, I have my reasons, I was pregnant with my first child and I was too busy concentrating on myself than the blog.

A quick update of what I have been doing while I was gone,
The biggest news, we had a baby girl in September. We call her Akshara.

I had a slightly difficult pregnancy but an amazingly normal delivery.

I have been crazy busy with Akshara, and now I got some time to get back to my blog.
I have been missing my blog so much and I have been missing the comments from all you fellow bloggers.

I do hope i get a chance to write more starting today.

Love ya all and feels great to be back
