FF: Falling in Love

Mary, the three year old granddaughter of ninety year old Mitch loved this place on the terrace where she could see the ships and the cruises. The best thing about this was the story that her grandpa ha told her a million times, a story that never gets old for Mary. A story she would remember for life.

PC: Fatima Fakier Deria

Mary “Grandpa,tell the  story”

Mitch with a smile “Again?”

Mary “yes yes, pleeease”

Mitch
“This was not a port 70 years back. It was a small deck, with chairs. I and my friends drank & played cards here. One night,a very pretty girl was sitting alone on the edge of this deck”

with a far away look he said “That night, I fell in love with your great grandmother, sweetheart”

WPS: Rich Vs Kids

Nassau, Bahamas

She stood there waiting to get into the fancy cruise, wearing a wide brim hat and over-sized sunglasses. Everything about her looked expensive. That red lipstick, those high-heels and the pearl white and black stripes dress looked right out of some glossy fashion magazine.

Her: “Wey-ahh iz mahh loogh-age” (Where is my luggage)

Her: ‘Oh mahh goadh, it iz so hawt out hee-yah” (Oh my god,it is so hot out here)

A kid with flee market brought flower printed pants was curiously looking at her.
He slowly walked to her and asked

Kid: “Miss, are you having gum in your mouth? Looks like the words are getting stuck in there?”

Her: “Look kid, that’s my cool accent, now shoo”

*Her helpers who overheard the conversation smirked*

FF: That Big House

PC:  © J Hardy Carroll
My town in Gratville consisted of five, not so very wealthy families. We lived on daily wages basis.

Then one day, a rich man came and built this massive structure with beautiful blooming flowers, pretty garden with water fountains, a swimming pool with an artificial waterfall.
Every kid in the town including me would stand at this gate and look at it in awe, and we wished to jump in the pool on hot summer days.

Now, when I stand here as the top men in the Forbes magazines, I still feel like that kid who longed to go in this house.

Week 8: Sorry Letter

This is the eight week of the '"Letter Writing Challenge" and the letter of the week is for that someone whom you might have hurt sometime.

Here is my letter for the week.

Dear C, R, V

I started to write this letter and I am here staring at a blank screen. I don't know where to start. Well, I will start by saying sorry to you. I have tried, swear by God I did try to come up to your and say sorry. But, maybe it was guilt or a bit of my ego that I could not come up to you. But, I mean everything I say in this letter.

I am sorry that I wasn't there when you needed me. I am sorry that I was being very nasty to you. I am sorry that I made you my last priority. I am sorry that I did not respond when you reached out to me several times.

I regret everything I have done, but trust me it wasn't intentional. I did not want to hurt you ever. You mean a lot to me.

Today, in this public platform, I am standing with my headed bowed down, my hands in Namaste and I sincerely request you to forgive me for everything I have done.

Please forgive me, if you can.

I am sorry

I am so overwhelmed after writing this letter.

Theme Reveal: #APOM A to Z Challenge

Source
This is my second year in April A-Z challenge. Last year, my theme was "Colors"
I didn't know then that every color had a name and meaning to it. I loved writing for the whole month.

This year, I had a solid plan to write on Bollywood & Hollywood movies. I would see them and write about them, but just the day before the theme reveal, a friend of mine shared a #100happydays picture. This, gave me a new idea, I call this "A Piece Of Me". (APOM)
I will share a part of my life in pictures.

Example: The first thing that wakes me is my alarm so
A = Alarm
B = Book I am reading now
C = Car

I do hope I get a picture for every alphabet though.

Happy Writing Everyone!

Week 7: Thank you Teacher

Its the seventh week of the 'Letter Writing Challenge" and the letter for this week is to your favorite teacher.

Here is my letter to my favorite teacher of all time

Dear Life,

Yes, you my dear life are my favorite teacher. You have taught me so many things and are still teaching me. I guess, our student teacher relationship will continue forever.

You taught me to be strong even after being beaten down hard. You taught me to smile even in the worst situations. You taught me to love again even after getting my heart broken. You taught me to keep my hopes up even when everything was looking bleak.

You taught me to not judge people by their looks. You taught me to not cry over people who don't deserve my tears. You taught me, family is everything, even after I was a mean. You taught me to see the best in everyday. You taught me to be grateful of what I have.
I have so much to list down that I can keep writing pages and pages of what you have taught me.

All I want to say is, My Life, I am thankful to you in every way. I will try my best to keep you happy.

Thank you for everything
forever indebted to you

ABCW: I

I dedicate a poem today to the most wonderful person I know
A person who isn't perfect, but tried to go with the flow

This person loves with all her heart
But sometimes falls apart

She loses her temper too
But, smiles & apologizes too

She can give her life for her family
She loves them unconditionally

She may not have many achievements in her kitty
But, she knows she has made many smile in her sociality

She writes blogs in a pseudo name
But, the feelings are totally the same

She listens to songs and humms them along
She dances in the rain, sun, snow and even the bird song

She is ambitious, confident and charming
In toto, she is a darling

She is the woman, She is a little girl
She is a wife, She is a mother
She is a friend, She is a lover
She is the woman I see in my mirror

We do so much for everyone, at times its just fair to dedicate a song or a poem to yourself.
My letter for today is "I"
I, Me, Myself

Week 6: Stranger

This is the sixth week of the "Letter Writing Challenge" and the letter for this week is to that stranger who was nice to you.

Here is my entry;

Dear Stranger,

We met ages back, when I was a teen. You may not remember me, but you face is absolutely clear to me.

Thank you for helping me, when I was half-dead on that hospital stretcher. Thank you for rushing to my aid and taking car of me till I was safe inside. I saw your eyes, never left mine. I wanted to thank you then and there. Guess, you are one of the reasons that I am alive and writing this letter.

I hope someday, we meet as strangers again and become friends.

Thank you for being nice. You are an amazing soul.

XOXO

I owe my life to you

SWG: Con

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "Making Peace" by Denise Levertov: forming, feeling, making, balance, ahead, crystal, profit, power, poem, grammar, metaphors, syntax

She came into this tiny town of innocent villagers.
She sat under the banyan tree and started to say poems regularly
The poems lacked grammar, syntax's, metaphor's or any meaning

She said that the Lord walked ahead and led her here
To balance the negativity in this village.
She said she had the power to turn everyone's ill-fate into fortune

With a shiny crystal, she was making some general predictions.
Some of them did come true.
Now, she got a feeling that she can con the innocent villagers.
A long queue of innocent, desperate villagers started forming for her predictions
Soon, she started to make profit from her business

Will the innocent villagers ever realize that she is a con??

There are many such con-men around the world. BEWARE

FF: Light of Hope

Aliseh was sitting at her window with a heavy heart and tears in her eyes. It seems the universe was reflecting her mood too. It was dark and gloomy outside.

PC: Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

She looked at the picture in her hand and let out heavy sobs. It was very hard losing her 10 day old baby to medical complications. Why was life so unfair?

Just then, she heard the chimes from the baby mobile, and the sun shone through the clouds. She looked outside the window and felt like her baby was up there and is talking to her.
