WODW & FSF: Breakfast

With this word, i am reminded what my Grampa used to say

"Never ever start work or make any decisions before a hearty breakfast"

"You no have breakfast, You no shit"

"You no shit, shit goes to head and you make shitty decisions"

So yeah, it ends up being the most important meal of the day

FSF: Lipstick

There is a girl who comes to my Coffee Shop everyday, and orders "Cappuccino in a paper Mug".

I have been crazy about this girl for as long as I remember.

I don't know her name, I don't know where she stays, I know nothing about her.

All I know is the shades of her lipsticks.

How? because I have a collection of every cup that she has had her coffee in, that has the mark of her lips

FSF & TT: Bubble

She believed in true love and fairy tales

She believed that one day his knight in shining armor shall come some day

She believed in her dreams

He came into her life, to burst her bubble

And now, she believes in no one

FSF: Scorching

I pass by them every morning, their kids wouldn't be older than 5 or 6.

The stay in the pavements, they eat left-overs, they wear torn 100 times re-stitched clothes and shoes.
PC: http://www.poipleshadow.com

Their kids, play in scorching sun, their men work in every condition, their houses don't have electricity or water

The term luxury for them is a someones hand-downs that aren't torn.

Still they  have friends to rely on, and a huge smile on their face, that SMILE! My friend, is the most beautiful, and that Smile is priceless

FSF: Thief

That other woman, So treacherous
Her cruel intentions were hard to hide
I tried by best to be on guard always
She stole what I love the most
She stole not because she needed, She stole because it was mine, She stole because she was the thief

FSF: Flames

Whenever I think about Kashmir, I think about him, I think about the day when it was raining bullets, the day when the beautiful valley of Kashmir was in flames, the day I first saw him, the day he saved me from being killed.

I was a fresh graduate then, trying to hunt a job in other parts if India, and that fateful day when a bombshell from across the border destroyed my home, that is the day I fell in love with a soldier from across the border.

I was with him, for the whole week, he fell in love with me too, we made such fiery passionate love. We knew we can never be together, he had a family back home.

Another day of round firing, another day of smoke and flames in this once a peaceful valley, another blessed day with the love of my life, but it wasn’t just another day for me, it was when He said he is going back home to his family and breaking all his ties with me, that day I knew I would never see him again, I held his hand and promised to wait for him.

My wish never got fulfilled, I haven’t married anyone, for my love for him that was a never small fire but a roaring flame, 40 years later, I sit here with my old diary where I had written “I Love you and will wait for you forever”, I still wait for my soldier to take me away

FSF: Waves

Pic Courtesy: Lillie McFerrin
People go through a million emotions, love, hate, anger, loathe, appreciation, mirth, sadness, so many more.

To be happy in life, one has to make a choice of which emotions they choose to embrace, the happy ones and smile or keep crying thinking about the sad ones.

Just like waves, they keep coming, big, small, lashing, calm.

Its you, who chooses which wave to surf on.

Its you who chooses how to surf on it.

Eternal Love

They were 80, sitting together with an old open scrapbook in front of them.
They were smiling over old pictures and funny moments in the book that they made for every year of their marriage.
47 books till date and a gazillion memories in those books
As their daughter, I stand looking at them with tears in my eyes.
Lord, what would people not give for an eternal love like that.
