3WW: My Pink Dress

The old saying "What you see is what you believe" doesn't hold true anymore.

Now 'What you see, what you read may also not be true"

Well, I order this super cute dress online. It had a fancy, elaborate description of how soft the silk is, how delicate the laces are and the pictures too looked so mesmerizing. I was in love with the dress in the picture and ordered it for my birthday.
And when you order anything online, the wait for it to be delivered to you id the worst.
The dress came a day before my bithday, I was as excited as a kid in the candu shop.

I open it....and my heart breaks

What I saw was a pretty baby pink silk dress with a lace bodice. But, what I got was a blotchy old looking filthy pink dress.

I still have tears in my eyes thinking about it, so much hopes were shattered.

FF: Note-able Love Story

PC: Shaktiki Sharma
She took a bus every evening from this secluded bus-stop. She was sad that night and wrote a “I wish I could smile” and kept it on this bus stop. The bus came and she forgot about that note.

Next evening there was another note pinned to her note “I hope that you did smile”

She smiled and wrote ‘This note did”

Next day she eagerly waited for the evening to reach the stop, and find the note “Glad I could make you smile”

And here started a “notable love story” of Anna and Ronny.

WPS: Gullfoss Falls

We parked our car at the bottom of the hill. The climate was a bit dull, it was cloudy and looked as if it might rain.

Far away, we could hear the gush of the waterfall. Well, from the time I was a little kid, I have thing for waterfalls, I wanted to be that bird or the fish that takes a dive from the top to the bottom of the falls. I have forever been curious of where the falls might be originating.

Here, we had stair and an access to see the falls. Luckily, it had been raining for the past whole week, and we were sure that there would be water in the falls, instead of that almost drying tiny stream.

We ran as fast as our feet could take us up the stairs, we got tired. Then slowly emerged that magnificent Gulllfoss falls.

SWG: Flying Away

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "Christmas Away from Home" by Jane Kenyon: sleeves, swish, streams, candles, city, cars, painted, passing, pines, wildest, white, water

The cars are passing on the wet street
And splashed the water on the sides

The city is painted with colors of red and white
And the snow has settled on the pines, like glowing light

Streams of people walk to the church for the prayer tonight
In their homes, Stockings hanging and the candles lit bright

Not in their wildest dreams, would they have thought that an old man in red and white sleeve would come with a red nosed reindeer swishing on the sky
With a bell in his hand, a smile on his face, HoHoHo on his lips, says Mr. Santa Claus Bye bye

FF: Bypassed Route 45

PC: Roger Bultot
Long long ago, so long ago, that I don’t remember how long ago. I, a retired army man started this shop on Route 45.

In those days, there were so many vehicles coming in. The business was booming,
Then this route was by-passed. This tiny town slowly started vanishing. Those festive lights, slowly started to dimish.

Now the only light that falls on the street is the neons of my almost bankrupt shop and the traffic light.

Hope this year atleast, Santa brings us customers

SWG: Just before the end

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "A Christmas Poem" by Conrad Hilberry:mouth, mother, mutter, sticky, slip, straw, faces, father, figs, wasting, ways, warp

PC: agoramedia
I felt something sticky,  in my mouth. It felt like rotten figs.
The look on my parents faces were a mix of pity and love
My mother muttered to my father something that should not have been audible to me.

"My baby, is wasting his life in the worst ways possible. I hate to see him slip by. I could not see the way the car was warped around my child. Why did he have to drink so much, that too when he had promised me that he will give up"

That was the final straw, before I embraced Mr. Reaper

FF: Animals Love

PC: Rochelle Wisoff Feilds
"Mommy, I see warmth in that window"

"Don't look there baby, we are animals, we are meant to be out"

"Mommy, if they can't take care of us, why do they have us? We have such a short life and half the time is spent waiting for them to notice us and give some love”

“Child, the word compassion is getting lesser everyday as the world is growing closer with technology. We don’t know technology. But we know love”

“I love you Mommy”

They can't speak for themselves they need you. Make their Christmas a merry and a warm one too

I hate you Wind

How jealous I am when you play with his hair
How envious I feel when you can forever be there
How sad I feel, when you can touch him and I cannot

If you want me to love you again,
Transport my love in your heart and make him feel the warmth of my love
Tell him that his wife misses him.

#mynyelook Masquerade

I am standing here in front of my open closet with so many clothes hanging and typically I have this statement lingering on my mind "I have nothing to wear"

Then I make a check list in my head,
Hows the weather on New Year's eve?
So a little heavy jacket should do

Which place am I going to?
A masquerade party
So beautiful elegant dress, preferably black, since I am going to have this shiny mask on me

Am I going to dance?
Yes sir, I so am going to dance into the new year
So, simple non-fussy but sexy looking shoes.
Since, I already have a black dress, I can combine them with a knee-length silver gladiator

What bag should I carry?
I need some money, my credit cards and my phone
So a pretty black silver clutch would do

I will do a light shimmer eye shadow, kohl and do a winged eyeliner for that sexy effect and top my look with a cherry red semi-glossy lipstick.

Taa Daaa....I am ready to ring the New Year in....

FF: Leaving on an airplane

PHOTO PTOMPT © Lucy Fridkin
PHOTO PTOMPT © Lucy Fridkin
I'm in the flight. I am in no mood to hear any announcement. I don’t want to smile at the friendly air-hostess. I solemnly look outside the tiny oval shaped window. I see the airplane speeding on the runway. My heart is racing at the speed of this plane. With a tiny jerk, I can feel the plane take off the ground. The tears in my eyes couldn’t stop no more, slowly they started flowing down my cheek, clouding my vision.

It was that heartbreaking moment of first time leaving my parents’ house, my city, my friends and moving to a new place forever.

ABCW: Understand

I don't understand the world
I don't understand perceptions about people of different countries
I don't understand why people fight
I don't understand why people get divided in the name of race, color, caste, creed, sex, choices
I don't understand why there is so much hate
I don't understand politics
I don't understand crimes

But, what I do understand is,
That someone in some country can make me smile with their blog
That someone in some part of the world can make be cry with their blog
That I am friends with people in this virtual world
When I am low, someone somewhere prays for me
That I am not alone
That there is a lot of bad in this world..but, there is even more love
I understand, there is more love than hate in the world

Fans he gathered were in plenty

So many movie background music offers her had
He rejected all, that crazy lad

He played only in that café, not many knew why
He had his eyes for this girl, pretty and shy

One evening she came with a man
He tried to keep a brave face as much as he can

He cried that night on the table where she sat
On his shoulder there was a pat

She stood there with a smile on her face
His heart started to race

He met his forever there
That is why he played only in that café

SWG: That Clown's Life

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "A Village Cat" by Anne Porter: living, under, decorated, daubs, smudges, streaks, clown, carnival, gaze, wonder, back, eyes

PC: Flickr
Streaks of light streamed from the windows and slowly filled the room. She gazed at the light with her tear stained eyes. The bruises on her back, the lashes from last night, sadly reflected from the broken mirror in the room.
The daubs of make-up were now smudged on her swollen face.
She slowly stood under the shower, washing off the dried blood stains and the pain.
She, the clown, of the famous carnival, decorated herself in happy colors, made everyone smile.

Would anyone have wondered,  what pain the clown was living behind that happy smile?

ABCW: Rhyme

PC: dailydropcap.com
I love words that rhyme
It used to be my favorite pastime
Now, I attempt a poem every time
I see to it that the words rhyme

Daddy says, never to use the cell phone before bedtime
I close my eyes, and listen to the wind chime
In my head, I imagine somewhere happening some crime

Daddy, says "Mr princess, rise and shine"
I wake up late and race against time
The clock has already struck nine
I am going to be killed by my history professor, Mr. Trine

Its a beautiful spring time
I admire my little plant, the thyme
In my green tea, I squeeze some lime
I think to myself, how beautiful it that so many words rhyme

FFAW: Black Bride's Curse

PC: Joy Pixley
“Bridge of the lost bride” is the name of this bridge. It’s famous for brides going missing from here on full moon and no moon nights. Though, except for the elders, no one in the town believed that anymore.

SPLASH, is all what was heard that night. The people passing by, paid no heed to the splashing water or the gasps. They thought, maybe it was just the kids trying to act all spooky on the Halloween. Next morning, the police found a pretty teen, wearing a bride’s Halloween gown, lying on the rocks below the bridge.

It was Vicky who laughed and made fun about this cursed bridge. Only, that night did she realize that the myth was indeed true, when she sat to count her treats and the hand of black bride pulled her down and everything then turned dark, the black bride had struck again.

ABCW: Optimism

"Morning" or "Good Morning" is your choice
In this moment, be sad or rejoice

Be Optimistic, and never give up
Life isn't always happy, so when you fall get up

Dust yourself and smile wide
Believe you can, you sure are on the right side

Optimism, doesn't mean being happy everyday
It means, there is something small to be happy about each day

Let the world, throw things at you, trying to pull you down
You my friend, imagine wearing an invisible crown
Look them in the eye and day "Sweet world, nothing is going to pull me down"

Forget all the reasons, why it won't work. Think of that one reason why it will
Be Happy, find a reason to smile everyday
Be Optimistic

3WW: Love at first sight

PC: dog.net
The woods with tall trees overlooked my backyard
That area of the house, we as kids were barred

One day while I was alone at home
I heard a beautiful rhythm that soon filled every room

I followed the sound, and felt it coming from the dark woods
I went as close as I could

Suddenly, I heard a raspy voice sing
It was hoarse but beautiful to my hearing

I was mesmerized, and I walked to the forbidden zone
There my singer sat, on the bank of the river, with tears in her eyes
In  moonlight, her radiance shone

I wanted to call out to her, but my voice seems lost
She felt a someone watching her and made a sudden pause

Our eyes met, she was frightened and I was at awe
She turned back and ran into the woods, while I stood there rooted at my spot

Twenty years past to that night
That was when I started to believe in "Love at first sight"

That's my mom and baby me
You bore all that pain, with seriously nothing to gain
You got a brat like me, even then you stood like a pillar with me

For all that little, big and so many things that you do, I should say a thousand Thank You
For all the times I have screamed and made you cry, I am sorry, I really am

For the times that I have forgotten, for the times I have been busy with my friends
For the times you have stayed awake for me all night
For the times I havent picked up your call
For the times I havent been nice to you at all
After years, those are the times I hate myself most of all

You were there when I needed you
You stopped and listened when I spoke to you
You taught me compassion, and the power of education
You taught me the value of money

You are my first love
You are m queen
You mean a lot to me

Sometimes I may not say
Sometimes some words are unspoken
All I need to say to you Mom
"I Love you, I really do"

FF: Am I in love yet?

PHOTO PROMPT © Roger Bultot
PC: Roger Bultot
I knew I loved her. But, I wasn’t sure if I was “in love” with her. I wanted someone to validate it for me. I know I sound really shallow but that’s how it is.

Here I am, standing in this grand ballroom of this ancient house with so many people here to witness our wedding. I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown, I want someone to tell me that I love her.

Then I look up, I see her coming down the spiral stairs, looking like a regal angel in white. The radiance on her face is mesmerizing.

I see twinkly fireworks in my head. It’s I guess God’s way of making me fall “in love” with her finally.

SWG: Stevey

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "The Mermaids" by Marianne Boruch: spell, concept, offering, badass, whale, dolphin, murderous, whimsy, core, singing, expanse, steely

Stevey, was a nice orphan in a small town. But, he was born with  steely eyes and murderous gaze. Everyone made fun of him. This  hurt him to the core. One day he decided "No more nice guy", from that day on he turned a badass, this town loathed.

PC: hercampus/Songofthesea
One evening, Stevey was sitting alone gazing at the vast expanse of the ocean. He sat there spell bound at the blues of the ocean and the orange of the sky.

The dancing waves, gave him an abstract concept. He wanted to do something whimsy for the sea, like an offering from him. He wanted to thank the sea for accepting him the way he is and not making fun of him.

He bent down and started singing the song that his mother taught him. The music, the tone, the voice was mesmerizing. The whales, dolphins and sea creatures came to listen to him. His singing, became famous in the town, people from far far away came to hear him sing.
One day, a miracle happened, the most beautiful, the most rumored mermaid came out if the ocean to offer her love to this man who had made her and her sea creatures happy.

From that day on, bad guy Stevey became the best singer Steve and the husband of the prettiest woman the land or water has ever seen

SWG: Wise Pixie

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "The Ancestors Explain How Envy Grew" by Afaa Michael Weaver: hush, crying, missing, cheese, chocolate, ending, jagged, rubbing, proper, alphabet, wealth, neighbors

Little Meera was standing on the pavement of her old house staring at the neighbors dining room window.

PC: 99host
Slowly tears started clouding her vision. She doesn’t remember when she started crying standing there in her tattered clothes. Her mother was clearing the last remains of her old house that has been sold a few weeks back to pay off her father’s gambling debts.
Seeing Meera sob, her mother came to her and hushed her with soothing words of a better life, beautiful countryside.

Little Meera, missed her old home. She missed the wine and cheese, she missed the chocolate pudding,. Her mother and her had not had a proper meal since they moved out of old house.

Meera, sat silently on the stone of the man-pond at the end of her garden, wishing and praying all to be back to normal. She started drawing alphabets on the water, she hated her tear-stained reflection on the water. Suddenly something from inside the water jagged her fingers, a tiny pain shot up her arms. Meera got up that rock and started rubbing her hurt fingers and saw a small pixie came out of the water and sat on the same rock that she was sitting a while back. The little pixie in shimmery green dress smiled at her and said “Your wealth is you. This isn’t the ending. Smile and I will always be with you”

ABCW: Hen Party

That night was so much fun
Five days before the deed was done.

I was in my tiara and sash and my girls in flower crowns
The last thing we did before the ring

I was getting married and was so nervous for the day
We drank to calm our nerves, that was safe to say

That hot guy came in dressed as a cop
And more hot men followed him to the stage top

We raised our glasses, we played our games
We hooted at the strippers and called out names

When the night was done
Some puked, some crashed in our den

Our Hen Party antics, dares and boys
Will stay with us for the rest of our lives

SWG: Heart-Attack

THIS WEEK'S WORDS come from "The Graves" by Joanna Klink: flicker, anchor, water, minor, blur, tender, clear, laughter, unwinding, hovering, rushing, leaning

I am a sailor. My name is Bob. This is my experience.
We were sailing on our ship "The Mermaid".
One fine morning, when we removed the anchor  from the sea, suddenly the clear water turned red. It looked like the red color was rushing from within the sea and the color of the anchor was red, it looked like blood, but we assumed it might have been the paint.

That night we hit the mid sea, by around 2 am. I was at the deck unwinding the rope from the bwoy, just then a saw a flicker  of light, then I heard a shrill laughter. I tried leaning over the railing to see if any of my mates were playing a prank. But, few of my mates came up and said that they heard the laughter too.

Suddenly, a blur smoke emerged out of the blood colored anchor, it became huge and started hovering over our ship.

That is the day that I got my first minor heart-attack.

There was shock in her eyes and mirth in his. She sat on the floor holding her bleeding throat, life floating in front of her eyes. Slowly, she closed her eyes with her palms tightly holding the slit wound.

PC: pintrest
With a smile on his face and a humm on his lip, he came to her and said "Good bye, my dead bird" and he scoured her blood on the floor and opened the main door, started his car and drove off.

She opened her eyes, she was in pain but not dead yet as he assumed. She limped her way out. A few college kids saw her bleeding and called the cops & the ambulance. She was tentative of what was going on around her. Her vision was blurring, amidst the crowd she saw a familiar mean smile.

She tried to say something, but her voice cord was slit, and she fainted.

ABCW: F word

I am a four letter F word

I am always wet
I am used regularly all around the world
I am that little F word

I come in different shapes and sizes
I am called different names
I am made in different ways
I am that little F word

I love what you are thinking
I love that crooked smile while you are reading
I am FISH. That four letter F word

FFAW: Scars of my Heart

PC: TJ Paris
This is my home

This is where I saw his face
This is where I fell in love
This is where he held my hand
This is where he promised forever
This is where I bared my soul
This is where I began to care
This is where we kissed first
This is where we made love
This is where it all ended
This is where I was left alone
These were once, bare off-white walls
Now, bear the scars of my heart
This is where I want to be

This is my heart

FF: That Call

He called me up at 2am “Hi, meet me at the lake shed at 6 am” and *Click* the call was disconnected
PHOTO PROMPT - © Adam Ickes
PC: Adam Ickes

Why is he back? Why did he break my heart? Is he still with her? Why does he want to meet me now?

I couldn’t sleep after that call. I wanted to ask him all these questions that have haunted me for 5 years.

I got dressed and walk slowly to our shed, he wasn’t there. I waited for 30 minutes.

I got a call from his sister “Hi, Sam passed away 2 nights back. His last wish was to see you”

My heart broke again

She painstakingly went to the medical store, got the kit & got herself tested.
But, the time he came back home, all prepared to see her while.
He was pleasantly surprised to see his radiant wife

ABCW: Enigma

PC: idris
She didn't have an guarding dragon, nor was she locked in a tower
Yet she had the enigma like the nature

Pretty like a flower, her smile were like distant bells
She was the envy of all the village belle's

She never spoke too much, She didn't have any friend
But, every man in the town tried to befriend.

Every night, her appearance would change.
It was all very mysterious and strange.

She would sit but the fire every night
And mumble words, that would make a scary sight

In the morning, she again became that pretty same
The town named her Enigma.

If ever the come to know her secret
Their thinking would never be the same
