WPS: Ghost Town

Zhao came here as a tourist, but this place, it haunted him. He has dreamt about this place so many times and always woke up sweating. He felt as if he has been here before, he knew the place where an old man used to sell tea. The window above had rose trellis, and Mrs. Ping used to bake bao there. Deja Vu!

How did he know that? According to people, this city was burnt down to ashes  80 years ago. Later, they found out that one man was murdered here while the whole city was away in the New Year Carnival.

While, walking down the street a  very old woman, saw him and gave out a wail. She held Zhao's hand and said "Oh my God! Yansing, I am so happy, my prayers are answered, you are back"
Zhao stood there confused, the old lady brought out a picture from her purse, it was a black and white photo of a man, who looked exactly like Zhao, it was the picture of the man who was murdered in this town. Zhao was shocked, surprised, lot of mixed emotions.

The old lady looked straight into Zhao's eyes and said "Do you believe in rebirths?" She gave him a knowing smile and a piece of paper and suddenly vanished into thin air.

Zhao stood in the middle of this ghost town and fainted when he opened the little paper in his hand.

Sambor Prei Kuk Temple in Cambodia

In the middle of a jungle, stood an ancient structure, it looked something like an old temple. Some folks, made their tiny houses near by the temple.

The rumors are, anyone who can go inside the temple at 12am on a no-moon night and look into the eye of the deity,will have all his wish fulfilled.

Many came, many tried, but none came out alive.

Tonight, when the clock strikes 12, when the sky is dark and there is no moon,explorer number 1244627428 is going to try his luck with the lord.

Will be come back alive?

WPS: Zack still lives here

 Dubrovnik, Croatia

Zack had lived a hard life from the time he was born. A drunk abusive father, a subdued mother who couldn’t protect him or herself. Every day, he has heard a lot of screaming, beating, crying and many cuss words in his house.

Zack used to cry himself to sleep for so many nights, until his discovered this place. This became Zack’s happy place. He used to sit on this skirting for hours gazing at the sea and its colors, the houses nearby, the ships and at night the stars.

One night, Zack had enough of his father’s torture; he came here, smiled at the sky and leapt from his happy place with a smile on his face.

Now, every night, many people have claimed to have seen Zack sitting here alone smiling.

WPS: Love

Both aged 18, held hands at the edge of the hill. There he went down on his knees and proposed her with a handmade ring, that had a red stone from the river nearby. It wasn’t expensive but it meant everything to her. That day, they promised to build a life together.

After 30 years, a couple in their late-40s stood holding hands in their white picket fenced backyard.  With a smile on their face they looked at their red house.

She raised her left and kept it on his cheek, the red river stone shined in the morning sun. She smiled at him and said “We did it, we did build our life, in the same place that we started it”

He held her hand and smiled back and said “My life is you”

She blushed and the looked at the blue expanse of the sea, water and the houses around.

WPS: Blessing is disguise

It was 7am in the morning and the sun fell on the beautiful holy place. This place is known for not having shadows at any time of the day because of the way it was built.

The myth was, the shadow fell, only when the Lord answers a sincere prayer.

“how could you be so nasty Wayne?’ came a wail from the top floor of the building.

“We stay right opposite to the holy place, and look at you” was the same pleading voice again.

The priest of the holy place felt a pang of pity for the woman. He then saw her kneel next to the window facing the holy place and pray.

At that moment, a miracle happened, the shadow of the holy place fell on the woman’s window like a blessing. 

The shadow was not a myth anymore.

Myan cursed his luck standing in that deserted highway. He really wanted to reach home for the Christmas and surprise his mother. He felt, the pain in her voice, when Myan said he won’t make it this year.

And just like luck would have it, his bike broke down and at nowhere, then he remembered his mother’s words “Have faith, Pray and miracles will happen”

Myan knelt on the dusty side of the highway and closed his eyes, he saw his mother’s smiling face. He took a deep breath and said aloud “I want to see that smiling face in real”

Right then, there was a loud honk and Myan opened his eyes with a startle, a group of college kids, going towards his hometown offered him a lift.

Myan looked up the sky and smiled “Miracles do happen in highways” he thought

Every night, when the village sleeps, this old dilapidated building comes to life.

The earth below this building shakes violently and ground tears apart

She who was murdered ages back, rises from the dead

Searching for the man to whom she lost her heart

When the moon is full, and lights up the sky

She lures some man, and brings him here to die

Every carving is actually the name of the dead men

This will happen, till she unites with her man again

When I saw this picture, I for some reason could see it in Black and White with lightening around it. It gave me this horror movie scene like feeling in my head, with scary howling background music
In fact, most o the buildings in Edinburgh give me that old ancient feel.

WPS: Gullfoss Falls

We parked our car at the bottom of the hill. The climate was a bit dull, it was cloudy and looked as if it might rain.

Far away, we could hear the gush of the waterfall. Well, from the time I was a little kid, I have thing for waterfalls, I wanted to be that bird or the fish that takes a dive from the top to the bottom of the falls. I have forever been curious of where the falls might be originating.

Here, we had stair and an access to see the falls. Luckily, it had been raining for the past whole week, and we were sure that there would be water in the falls, instead of that almost drying tiny stream.

We ran as fast as our feet could take us up the stairs, we got tired. Then slowly emerged that magnificent Gulllfoss falls.
